Golf More This Fall: Burlington’s Fall Indoor Golf League Returns for Year 11
Some people put their clubs away when the outdoor season winds down.
We prefer to Golf More.
The FarAway Greens Fall League is back for its 11th year, bringing together friendly competition, flexible play, weekly laughs and a prize pool that gives everyone something to shoot for.
Last fall, almost 170 men and women joined us—and more than $10,000 in prizes was paid out over the season.
This year’s league begins October 13 and runs for 10 weeks. Registration is $285, including tax, 10 weekly nine-hole rounds and an allocation to the prize pool.
A New Course Every Week
One week you could be playing a links-style course across the Atlantic. The next, you might be surrounded by palm trees or taking on one of North America’s most recognizable layouts.
A different world-famous course is selected every week, giving league golfers the chance to travel the golf world without leaving Burlington.
Each course brings a different challenge. Some reward distance, others demand accuracy and a few may test the strength of even your closest golfing friendships.
No passport required. Just bring your clubs.
Your Round Matters
Our men’s and women’s leagues are played separately, but they share the same format: nine holes each week, team competition and handicaps that help keep things fun and fair for every level of golfer.
The team format means everyone has a chance to contribute. You don’t need to carry the team or post the lowest score of the week. Play your round, earn points and help move your team up the standings.
There are also weekly prizes that recognize individual play, plus team winners at the end of the season.
You can help your team, win something yourself—or, on a particularly good week, do both.
The League According to Gil
FarAway Greens co-owner Gil, aka “The Commish” has run the leagues from the beginning, bringing plenty of golf knowledge and an even better sense of humour to the job.
Each week, The Commish sends players a video covering the latest rankings, standout performances and some of the more entertaining moments from around the league. His updates combine a knowledgeable look at the week’s play with the kind of commentary that keeps golfers checking to see whether they have been praised, teased—or somehow both.
The videos have become part standings report, part highlight reel and part weekly league conversation. They keep everyone connected and help a league of almost 170 golfers still feel personal.
League Golf That Fits Real Life
A golf league sounds great—until it requires you to keep the same evening open for 10 straight weeks.
That is why the FarAway Greens Fall League offers flexible scheduling. You can play at almost any available time during the week, based on space and simulator availability.
Keep the same tee time when it works. Move your round when life gets busy. You still get the competition, team atmosphere and weekly updates without having to build your entire fall around one night.
Everyone is Welcome!
You don’t need an official handicap to join. The league system tracks and adjusts handicaps as the season progresses, giving experienced golfers meaningful competition while allowing newer and recreational players to take part without feeling outmatched.
You can register on your own or with friends. We organize the teams and will do our best to place friends together when requested.
Some players arrive knowing half the league. Others arrive knowing no one. After 11 years, we have learned that it usually doesn’t take long for that to change.
The Short Version
Almost 170 golfers. More than $10,000 in prizes last fall. A trip around the golf world, weekly winners and Gil’s much-anticipated league updates—all without leaving Burlington.
The only thing missing is your name on the list.
